Call to Create: Collaborations

Call to Create will develop partnerships with local, national and international organisations.

Working with young people in the fields of theatre, circus, spoken word, radio, video, live and digital music, its members aim to create a movement for the creation and distribution of excellent art.

From 2012, member organisations will be approached to collaborate on Call to Create projects. Members will also be invited to submit proposals for future collaborative projects that offer young people the chance to explore their creativity, and a selection of these will be commissioned in an annual series of Call to Create Projects.

Profiled below are some of the Roundhouse's past and present collaborations, which led to the conception of Call to Create. We hope that they will provide a starting point for the kinds of collaborative work that Call to Create will inspire.

The Roundhouse and Circolombia pioneered the use of circus as a tool for social engagement with their Street Circus Programme

In 2010-2011, the Roundhouse partnered with artist/director Mark Storor to create it's largest-ever production involving young people - The Fat Girl Gets a Haircut and Other Stories.

Roundhouse Rising platforms emerging musicians through partnerships with organisations across the world.

The Roundhouse, LIFT 2012 and the RSC join forces to create a production with a cast of London teenagers for the World Shakespeare Festival.

Round 1 is a three-year Olympic Inspire Mark project to bring young Londoners together through radio.
