Last week Tom Misch performed two sold out shows and music writer and photographer Nathalie was there to capture it all…
Tom Misch as gone from making music in his bedroom to selling out venues across the UK, and it’s easy to see why. The singer-songwriter-producer and multi instrumentalist performed two incredible sets with what’s becoming his signature style of fusing jazz, hip-hop and funk last week to an
audience who were only too willing to hear what he has to offer.
He kicked off the night with his nu jazz track ‘Journey’, giving the crowd exactly what they came for, captivating them with hits such as ‘It Runs Through Me’ and ‘South of the River’.
While it’s easy to go wrong with a classic like Stevie Wonder’s ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, Tom carried it out well considering it’s instrumental-only version, with the crowd picking up the rhythm and singing and dancing along.
It’s when you start to think that the show couldn’t get any better, that Tom is joined on stage by Zak Abel and later Loyle Carner to end this wonderful evening.
