Roundhouse Youth Advisory Board

The Roundhouse Youth Advisory Board (RYAB) was set up to enable young people to have an effective voice within the Roundhouse and to be powerful advocates to the wider community.

The aims of RYAB

To advise all Roundhouse teams on the development of the Roundhouse in order to ensure that young people’s views, ideas and perceptions inform decision through:

• Assisting in the planning of creative projects and programmes
• Advising on the way the Studios are managed and run
• Representing the Roundhouse at public and private functions
• Obtaining regular feedback from emerging artists
• Advising on peer mentoring and volunteering schemes
• Devising marketing and development strategies
• Reporting to the Board of Trustees

RYAB was recruited during autumn 2001 and first met in January 2002.

The board comprises a group of up to 14 members aged 18-25, and a group of up to 10 members aged 13-17.
