V&A Exhibition
Record Today for Tomorrow
Throughout August, the Roundhouse plays host to a touring exhibition from the V&A.
Visit Torquil's bar on level 1 to take a look. Opening Hours this summer are Mon-Fri 5pm-11pm, Sat 5pm-11pm and Sun 12noon-11pm.
This display features extracts from five world plays performed and recorded by members of Black and Asian Communities
in the UK including ‘A Midsummer Night Dream’ performed at the Roundhouse in March 2007. The plays are the product
of courses run by the V&A Theatre Collections which enabled members of the communities and students to document live theatre.
Each course resulted in the filming of a performance and the acquisition of supporting contextual material such as interviews
with cast, crew and audience.
Record Today for Tomorrow is part of the V&A's Heritage Lottery Funded Capacity
Building and Cultural Ownership project which has increased awareness and highlighted the importance of diversity across the
museum.
